Who we are

What we collect
Account data: email and a securely hashed password when you register. Profile data you choose to provide: username, display name, age range, gender, interests. Newsletter data: email and opt-in preferences. Usage data: anonymised analytics about which pages you visit, your browser type and approximate location (country/city). Comment and engagement data: comments you post, likes, saved articles.
Why we collect it
Account data to authenticate you (legal basis: contract). Profile data to personalise your feed (consent). Newsletter to deliver the briefings you signed up for (consent). Analytics to understand site performance and improve content (consent for non-essential cookies, legitimate interests for aggregate measurement). Comments to host the discussion you contribute to (contract / legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with infrastructure providers strictly necessary to deliver the service: our hosting provider, our database/auth provider, our email service for newsletters, and our analytics provider (with consent). All processors operate under data-processing agreements.
International transfers
Some of our processors are located outside the EEA/UK. Where they are, we rely on European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to protect your data.
How long we keep it
Account data for as long as your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion to prevent accidental loss. Newsletter data until you unsubscribe. Anonymised analytics for up to 26 months. Comments remain published unless you delete them or close your account.
Your rights (GDPR & UK GDPR)
You may access, correct, export, restrict, object to processing of, or delete your personal data. You may withdraw consent for analytics or newsletters at any time. EEA/UK users have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. Contact support@pubbverse.com — we respond within 30 days.
Children
Pubbverse is not directed at children under 13 (16 in some EEA member states). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We will post material changes here and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
