Ukraine Drone Strikes Kill Eight in Russia; Moscow Targets Black Sea Ports

Ukrainian drone strikes killed at least eight people inside Russia overnight, targeting a major oil refinery and an airfield, as Moscow simultaneously launched attacks on Ukrainian ports and vessels in the Black Sea.

The extensive Ukrainian assault saw drones penetrate deep into Russian territory. Moscow’s defence ministry claimed its forces intercepted and shot down 635 drones during the overnight operation, according to reports.

Untimely assistance and delays in the delivery of anti-ballistic missiles lead to this kind of destruction.

Targets inside Russia included critical military and civilian infrastructure, with fatalities reported from the widespread drone activity. An unspecified number of other casualties and damage was also reported.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky renewed his plea for increased international support, stating that "untimely assistance and delays in the delivery of anti-ballistic missiles lead to this kind of destruction." He highlighted the immediate impact of such delays on Ukrainian infrastructure and lives.
